    A researcher and behavioral scientist, Dr. Turner brings a wealth of experience in business and education to build social impact initiatives. He has spearheaded the development of a research platform to conduct real-time analysis of students’ digital behaviors. His proudest accomplishment was building a construction company in his hometown, New Orleans, as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

HBCU Smart Cities Challenge

The HBCU Smart Cities Challenge is empowering all 107 HBCUs to build a smart city application for their community.

The inaugural Smart City challenge encourages HBCU developers, entrepreneurs, designers, and engineers to develop tech solutions that leverage IoT technology.

Students enrolled at an HBCU are eligible to participate in the Smart City Challenge. Students majoring in STEM, public policy, sociology, computer science and business are encouraged to participate.
